Grain SA invites all inventors, farmers, students, and technology enthusiasts to participate in the popular Farmer’s Plans competition, which will take place from 10 to 13 September 2025 during NAMPO Cape at Bredasdorp Park. This competition celebrates practical solutions and smart ideas that address challenges on the farm and in the home — from new machinery to self-made tools and digital applications.
The competition consists of eight categories:
New: Original agricultural equipment and digital technology
Modified: Custom implements and software
Tools: Electric and non-electric
Home and Garden: Smart solutions for domestic use
Open Section: Cost-effective ideas under R5 000
Schools Section: Learner and student entries
Commercial Section: Plans already marketed
Video Section: For ideas that cannot be physically exhibited
Entrants must submit their plans by Monday, 1 September 2025, except for commercial and video entries, which must be submitted by Wednesday, 20 August 2025. All entries must be made on the official form and be placed at the Farmer’s Innovations stand by Tuesday, 9 September 2025 at 14:00.
Judging will take place on Wednesday, 10 September, followed by the award ceremony on Friday, 12 September at 12:00. The prize money for the competition is proudly sponsored by Omnia Nutriology®. Winners will be announced on Landbouweekblad’s platforms and the sponsors’ social media channels. In addition, the winner of the commercial division will receive a 10 m x 10 m exhibition space at NAMPO Cape 2026.
