FAW DETECTION IN THE WESTERN CAPE

03 Apr 2019

The first positive detection of FAW larvae on Sweetcorn near Clanwilliam in the Western Cape has been received. The traps in the area also confirmed presence of high numbers of FAW moths. The sample was collected by DAFF DIS and confirmed by the DAFF DIS PH diagnostic services.

All who is involved in the Western Cape must please note that scouting as well as pheromone surveillance remains important. FALL Armyworm migrates during Fall (autumn). It is now Fall in South Africa.
