AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION CONDITIONS

29 Jul 2020

The maize harvesting process for summer grain crops are somewhat later than normal when compared to previous production seasons, due to various reasons including late plantings, good yields causing the slower drying of crops, late rains delaying the harvesting process because fields are wet etc. Oil seeds have already been harvested while maize is still being harvested in the Western and Eastern Free State. The winter grain crops in the Western Cape generally appear good and average yields can be expected provided that follow-up rains occur continuously.
