AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION CONDITIONS

In general, it was a very difficult production year due to heat and drought conditions that occurred during planting time. Although producers in the western parts of the country’s optimising planting time for maize started mid-November, planting only commenced at the beginning of January, resulting in a likelihood that originally intended hectares might not be planted.
