The internationally renowned Grain SA NAMPO Harvest Day once again created a fresh opportunity
for producers to view and acquire pioneering technology, products and services from exhibitors, while
at the Grain Producer and Developing Grain Producer of the Year awards, recognition was given to
producers who manage their businesses to serve as an example and inspiration to other producers.

NAMPO HARVEST DAY
INTRODUCTION
INLEIDING
NAMPO OESDAG
Meer
verskeie brandpunte in landbou.
Willie Ludik, ‘n veeprodusent
Grain SA’s showcase of agriculture once again succeeded excellently in its purpose. The internationally
renowned Grain SA NAMPO Harvest Day this year presented technology and mechanisation exhibitors
in particular with an opportunity to display the most recent technology to agricultural producers. The
attendance figures of more than 72 000 and the participation of more than 600 exhibitors for the eighth
consecutive year confirmed that this showcase of agriculture is regarded as a growing arena for role-
players in agriculture from Southern Africa, Africa and even abroad.
Through the Harvest Day a fresh opportunity was created for producers to view and acquire pioneering
technology, products and services from exhibitors in order to promote sustainable production, and thus
succeeded in its aim of creating a platform for doing business, gaining information and holding topical
discussions. More than 45 international exhibitors were involved in this trade exhibition this year with the aim
of testing the local market for their products and investigating distribution possibilities. The exhibition of the
newest tractors and implements still forms an integral part of the NAMPO Harvest Day and this year visitors
could again view virtual and audio-visual demonstrations at the stands of mechanisation exhibitors.
Senwes also presented a future-focus discussion forum, with two panel discussions every day on
various focal points in agriculture. This was the first time that Grain SA’s partners used the Harvest
Day to address topical debates in broader agriculture.
Grain SA, BKT and Tubestone’s National Ploughing Competition, which elicited great interest among
participants and visitors, made its debut this year. Willie Ludik, a stock producer from Rouxville,
