Winter grain
Graphs 16 to 18 show the actual production cost, yields and profit/loss situation of wheat in the
Southern Cape and Swartland regions in the Western Cape, as well as the Eastern Free State. The
graphs indicate that a profit was only made in the Southern Cape during the 2011 production season,
while losses occurred in the Swartland and Eastern Free State. The main reason for the profit in the
Southern Cape was due to the good yields that were achieved.
Wintergraan
Grafiek 16 tot 18 toon die werklike produksiekoste, opbrengste en wins/verlies-situasie vir koring in
die Suid-Kaap en Swartland-streke in die Wes-Kaap en in die Oos-Vrystaat. Die grafieke toon dat daar
in die 2011-produksieseisoen slegs ‘n wins in die Suid-Kaap gemaak is, terwyl verliese in die Swartland
en Oos-Vrystaat gely is. Die wins in die Suid-Kaap kan toegeskryf word aan goeie opbrengste wat
behaal was.
