The price movement of two insecticides used on maize can be seen in Table 8. From August 2012 to
August 2013, the international insecticides price (in dollar terms) of imidacloprid increased by 0,7%, while
carbofuran decreased by 5,0%. When the influence of the exchange rate is included, the international
insecticides price (in rand terms) of imidacloprid increased by 22,4%, while carbofuran increased by
15,8%. The local price of imidacloprid increased by 13,6%, while carbofuran increased by 20,0%.

Vanaf Augustus 2012 tot Augustus 2013 het die internasionale onkruiddoderprys (in dollarterme)
van imidaklopried met 0,7% gestyg, terwyl dié van karbofuraan met 5,0% gedaal het. Indien die
invloed van die wisselkoers ingesluit word, het die internasionale onkruiddoderprys (in randterme)
van imidaklopried met 22,4%, gestyg, terwyl dié van karbofuraan met 15,8% gestyg het. Die plaaslike
prys van imidaklopried het met 13,6% gestyg, terwyl die prys van karbofuraan met 20,0% gestyg het.
