PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
PERSONNEL TURNOVER
The personnel turnover for the reporting period was 21 persons. The full personnel corps number is 72.
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
A skills development plan was submitted to the AgriSETA for the period April to March. Grain SA
pursues the ongoing development and empowerment of all personnel and various training opportunities
and courses were offered to personnel.
EMPLOYMENT EQUITY
Grain SA complies with the statutory requirements for the submission of the necessary reports and
planning to the Department of Labour, as set out in the Employment Equity Act No. 55 of 1998. An
Employment Equity Committee meets on a quarterly basis.
OPENING OF OFFICE IN BLOEMFONTEIN
During the reporting period Grain SA decided for industry strategic reasons to open an office for the
Farmer Development Department in Bloemfontein. This decision required thorough planning to ensure
that all legal procedures as prescribed by the Labour Law were implemented. A consultation process as
prescribed by Article 189 of the Labour Relations Act was followed with all personnel members affected.
The results of the process were that four personnel members moved to Bloemfontein and one personnel
member accepted a retrenchment package. In order to fill all the positions, four new personnel members
were appointed in Bloemfontein. One person was offered an alternative position in Bothaville and could
therefore be retained in the Grain SA structure.

VAARDIGHEIDSONTWIKKELING
‘n Vaardigheidsontwikkelingsplan is by AgriSETA ingedien vir die termyn April tot Maart.
Graan SA streef na die deurlopende ontwikkeling en bemagtiging van alle personeel en verskeie
opleidingsgeleenthede en kursusse is aan personeel gebied.
GELYKE INDIENSNEMING
Graan SA voldoen aan die statutêre vereistes van indiening van die nodige verslae en beplanning van
die Departement van Arbeid, soos uiteengesit in die Wet op Gelyke Indiensneming Wet Nr. 55 van 1998.
