GRAAN SA-INLIGTINGSTEGNOLOGIE
UPGRADE
After the Head Office was moved to Pretoria, the strategic decision was made to transfer the entire
IT support system to a new service provider. After the negotiations, an agreement was concluded
with BankservAfrica, which established support systems for the Head Office, the Grain SA offices
in Bloemfontein, Bothaville, Paarl and all regional offices in Kokstad, Mthatha, Mbombela, Vryheid,
Ladybrand, Belfast and Lichtenburg.
The transfer process was completed by way of project management from October 2012 to December
2012. The result of this is that all Grain SA personnel have access to a professional, 24-hour support
system with distance assistance. All systems are supported via the same server and the necessary
discipline and protection were built into the system to ensure optimum interaction and connectivity
between all work stations.
The NAMPO Park IT server was also upgraded as a whole, with WiFi points deployed in strategic areas.
The second phase of the upgrading of the Grain SA servers will follow in the coming book year after
October 2013 in order to improve support to all offices.
Where appropriate, individual work stations were upgraded in terms of a three-year replacement policy.
The approach to IT management is to monitor the most recent technology proactively and to phase it in
with the Grain SA network if applicable.

Ná die verskuiwing van die basis van die Hoofkantoor na Pretoria, is die strategiese besluit geneem om
die volledige IT-steunstelsels aan ‘n nuwe diensverskaffer oor te dra. Na afloop van onderhandelinge
is ‘n ooreenkoms met BankservAfrica gesluit, waardeur ondersteuningstelsels gevestig is vir die
Hoofkantoor, die Graan SA-kantore te Bloemfontein, Bothaville, Paarl asook alle streekskantore op
Kokstad, Mthatha, Mbombela, Vryheid, Ladybrand, Belfast en Lichtenburg.
Die proses van oordrag is by wyse van projekbestuur vanaf Oktober 2012 tot Desember 2012
afgehandel. Die resultaat hiervan is dat alle Graan SA-personeel toegang het tot ‘n professionele
24 uur-steunstelsel met afstandhulp. Alle kantore word via dieselfde bedieningstelsel ondersteun en die
nodige dissipline en verskansing is in die stelsel ingebou vir optimale interaksie en konnektiwiteit tussen
alle werkstasies.
