Grain SA is a non-profit organisation and depends on different sources of funding to continue the work
of the Organisation. It is vital for the necessary financial systems to be in place to accurately distinguish
the different fundings and their employment.
The biggest challenge remains the expansion of income. In a period in which inflation caused a sharp
increase in expenditure, the importance of focusing on this expansion was once again confirmed.
The recent decision to modify the risk profile of Grain SA to that of a moderate risk investor ensured
that we could share in the success of the JSE during the year. Investments are one of the main sources
of income, and in view of our aim of independence and transparency, investments are administered by
recognised financial institutions.
The balance sheet of the Organisation is very healthy and ensures that it will continue as a going concern.
The annual financial statements of the Organisation are set out from page 132 to page 163 of this report.
Graan SA is ‘n nie-winsorganisasie en maak staat op verskillende befondsingsbronne om die werk van
die Organisasie voort te sit. Dit is van kardinale belang dat die nodige finansiële stelsels in plek is om
die verskillende befondsings en die aanwending daarvan akkuraat te kan onderskei.
Die grootste uitdaging bly steeds die uitbreiding van inkomste. In ‘n tydvak waar inflasie ‘n skerp styging
in uitgawes veroorsaak, bevestig dit weer eens die belangrikheid van die fokus om inkomstebronne uit
te brei ten einde die volhoubaarheid van die Organisasie te verseker.
Die onlangse besluit om die risikoprofiel van Graan SA aan te pas na ‘n gematigde belegger, het
verseker dat ons in die sukses van die JSE gedurende die jaar kon deel. Beleggings is een van die
hoofbronne van inkomste en met onafhanklikheid en deursigtigheid ten doel, word beleggings deur
erkende finansiële instellings geadministreer.
Die balansstaat van die Organisasie is baie gesond en ondersteun die voortbestaan as ‘n lopende saak.
