(vervolg)
The CA-FIP is designed in such a way that it contributes to strengthening partnerships and other learning
alliances and to become a vehicle for attracting support and funding from both public and private sources.
Progress and major achievements
A range of stakeholders have been engaged with as part of a national and international stakeholder
network, such as the development of a Grain SA CA Committee (see
Photo 1
).
A number of successful CA farming systems have been described and published, serving as a
source document or “living manual” for producers interested to start CA in any specific area.
A number of CA awareness events have been supported and/or launched, at Matatiele, the
Kameeldoring study group (Stella), the Manjoh Ranch, two awareness events with Dr Rolf Derpsch
as presenter in Pretoria and at NAMPO Park in Bothaville and the Annual No-Till Conference at
the Drakensville Holiday Resort.
Four official demonstration trials in various agro-ecological regions of South Africa have formed
the basis of demonstrating Argentinian CA technology to farmers. Results from the 2012/2013
growing season have shown significant yield increases in most CA treatments compared to
conventional systems.
Grain SA assisted the Maize Trust with the evaluation and realignment of existing research projects
under the CA-FIP philosophy. Two Maize Trust funded research projects, which is hosted under the
banner of the CA-FIP at Grain SA, is currently being launched in the North West, KwaZulu-Natal
and Eastern Cape Provinces.

).
‘n Aantal BL-bewustheidsgebeurtenisse is ondersteun en/of bekend gestel, by Matatiele,
die Kameeldoring-studiegroep (Stella), die Manjoh Ranch, twee bewustheidsgebeurtenisse
met dr Rolf Derpsch as aanbieder in Pretoria en by NAMPO Park in Bothaville en die jaarlikse
Geenbewerkingskonferensie by die Drakensville-vakansieoord.
