Op 30 Julie 2018 het Graan SA se Produksie/inset-werkgroep met
CropLife vergader, en die volgende sake is bespreek:

2018/2019-mielieproduksieseisoen.

Die internasionale en plaaslike situasie in die landbouchemika-
lieëbedryf.
The impact of the depreciation can be seen when international dollar
prices are converted to rand, which meant that increases were more
than in dollar terms.
Table 5
shows international insecticide prices, which are also used
in maize (dollar and rand terms). Lambda-cyhalothrin and carbofuran
both show significant increases of 79,1% and 25,2%, respectively;
while imidacloprid and deltamethrin decreased by 1,6% and 5,1%,
respectively. International prices in rand terms illustrate the effect of
the weakening of the exchange rate.
ANNUAL MEETING WITH THE CROP PROTECTION
INDUSTRY
On 30 July 2018, Grain SA’s Production/Input Working Group met
with CropLife, and the following issues were discussed:
Market trends in the grain industry and production costs for the
2018/2019 production season.
Changes at CropLife.
The international and local situation in the agrochemical industry.
