During the reporting period from 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2022, Grain SA had a total

of

16 301 active developing producer members

supported in the programme:

In some regions like North West and the Free State we service a number of larger producers who are

categorised as the potential commercial and new-era commercial producer categories. While there

are a large number of potential commercial and new-era producers located in the eastern provinces

of the country too, it must be noted that most of the subsistence and smallholder

producers dominate the Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and the

Eastern Cape provincial regions.

As we strive to encourage continuous learning and adapt-

ing to ensure sustainability and relevance, we are always

committed to attracting good talent across our respon-

sibility programmes. Trainers and mentors are our last-

mile team for supporting producers. We also strive to

continuously develop collaborating relationships with

well-aligned industry partners to strengthen our efforts,

accelerate growth and develop a network of support

for producers locally.
