MARKETING AND BRAND COMMUNICATION Throughout the reporting period, Grain SA continued to produce and distribute branded communication materials and corporate items that reinforced the organisation’s visual identity and connection with members, sponsors, and stakeholders. These assets were strategically deployed at key events, including Congress, NAMPO, NAMPO Cape, NAMPO ALFA, and Grow for Gold, ensuring consistent brand visibility and alignment with Grain SA’s renewed value proposition. The focus on cohesive, professional branding strengthened Grain SA’s presence across all public touchpoints, enhancing engagement and reinforcing trust with members, partners, and policymakers. NAMPO ALFA 2024 – EXPANDING HORIZONS FOR LIVESTOCK, HUNTING AND OUTDOOR INDUSTRIES NAMPO ALFA 2024 marked the third presentation of South Africa’s premier livestock, hunting and outdoor expo, held from 17 to 19 October 2024 at NAMPO Park, Bothaville. The event united the livestock, hunting, mechanisation, and outdoor lifestyle sectors under one platform, offering a comprehensive showcase of equipment, expertise, and innovation. The expo reaffirmed Grain SA’s role as a connector across agricultural value chains. It provided a vital space for interaction between large-scale and small-scale producers, highlighting diversification, sustainability, and inclusive growth in the red-meat and outdoor economy. The 2024 edition underscored Grain SA’s commitment to promoting profitable, responsible, and future-fit farming practices. Grain SA and ALFA Events partnered with the Red Meat Producers’ Organisation (RPO), RMIS, NaLFA-SA, Sernick, SA Studbook, Landbouweekblad, and Nexus & Agri Voice. Supported by numerous sponsors, exhibitors and industry stakeholders, the event attracted more than 8 500 visitors and featured over 282 exhibitors across livestock, outdoor, and mechanisation industry. p Actions Outcomes Introduced an expanded programme including the RPO National Congress, Small-Scale Beef Cattle Producers Conference, and Land Bank Livestock Transformation Conference. Hosted the first Lucerne Expo and a new Mechanisation Pavilion showcasing feed-milling, baling, and transport technology. Partnered with SA Studbook and Landbouweekblad to launch the Livestock Academy – a knowledge platform for profitable herd management. Curated the Hunting & Outdoor programme, featuring a treasure hunt, Hinterland shooting range, Fortis shooting training, 4×4 test-drives, motorbike skills shows, drone demonstrations, and family-friendly entertainment. Positive media sentiment exceeding 339 media mentions, reflecting the growing national relevance of livestock and outdoor integration. Record participation across livestock championships, outdoor demonstrations, and educational sessions. Strengthened collaboration between Grain SA, RPO, and emerging-farmer structures, aligning with national transformation goals.
